Target Audience

This guide is designed for IT administrators who are using Apple’s Device Enrollment Program (DEP) and Apple’s Volume Purchase Program (VPP) in the United States.

Note: Although IT administrators can use VPP outside of the United States, this guide is intended for use in the United States due to the limited availability of DEP.

What's in This Guide

This guide provides a step-by-step workflow for automating and customizing the enrollment of new, institutionally owned devices using Apple’s DEP, and then assigning apps and eBooks to users and revoking and reassigning apps obtained through Apple’s VPP.
