AirPrint is an Apple technology that helps you create full-quality printed output without the need to download or install drivers.
Before configuring AirPrint in Jamf School, check if your printer supports AirPrint. You can find a list of available printers on Apple's official website: List of AirPrint printers.
Note: If your printer does not support AirPrint it is still possible to print, however you'll have to use a cable to connect your printer to a Mac.
Connect your AirPrint printer to a Wi-Fi network. Follow your printer's instructions to connect to a Wi-Fi network. For more information, follow this guide: Connect an AirPrint printer to a Wi-Fi network
Configuring AirPrint is done in the AirPrint payload within a profile. In Jamf School it is possible to configure multiple AirPrint services in a single profile.
When setting up an AirPrint service you will need to configure the following things:
After configuring these you can choose to force Transport Layer Security (TLS).
Note: 'Port' and 'Force TLS' are available only in iOS 11.0 and later.
Once you set up an AirPrint service, you can start using AirPrint on your devices. For more information, see the following guides:
If you are having trouble with AirPrint or if you have questions on how to use AirPrint, see the following Apple documentation:
