Install a Jamf Infrastructure Manager Instance that Hosts a Healthcare Listener

Jamf Infrastructure Manager instances that host a Healthcare Listener can be installed on Linux and Windows. When you install an instance, it is enrolled with Jamf Pro. You can install as many instances as your organization requires.

Note: You can only install one Infrastructure Manager instance per computer.

After an Infrastructure Manager instance that hosts a Healthcare Listener is installed, you can edit the settings and view inventory information. For more information, see Jamf Infrastructure Manager Instances in the Jamf Pro Documentation.

Requirements

The Infrastructure Manager instance that hosts a Healthcare Listener requires a computer with the following:

  • One of the following operating systems:

    • Windows Server 2019 (64-bit)

    • Windows Server 2016 (64-bit)

    • Windows Server 2012 (64-bit)

    • Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x

      Note: .NET Framework 4.0 or later is required.

  • A 64-bit capable Intel processor

  • 2 GB of RAM

  • 300 MB of disk space available

  • Java 11 (For more information, see the Migrating to Java 11 and Installing Java and MySQL for Jamf Pro 10.14.0 or Later articles.)

On the Jamf Pro server, the built-in CA or a trusted third-party CA must be configured.

Installing a Jamf Infrastructure Manager Instance that Hosts a Healthcare Listener

Ubuntu

  1. Log in to Jamf Account and go to the following page:
    https://account.jamf.com/products/other/infrastructure-manager

  2. Download the Healthcare Listener Installer Bundle for Ubuntu (version_hcl.deb) to the computer on which you plan to install it.

    Note: In the installer filename, “version" is the version of the installer you are downloading. For example, "2.3.0-0_hcl.deb".

  3. Log in to the server as a user with superuser privileges.

  4. Initiate the installer by executing a command similar to the following:

    sudo dpkg --install /path/to/2.3.0-0_hcl.deb
  5. When prompted, enter the Jamf Pro URL. For example, “https://JAMF_PRO_URL.com:8443/”.

  6. When prompted, enter credentials for a Jamf Pro user account with the “Infrastructure Manager” privilege.

  7. When prompted, enter the Jamf Pro password.

  8. When prompted, enter the hostname of the computer on which the Infrastructure Manager is installed. For example, “computername.mycompany.com”.

    Note: The hostname must be entered as a fully qualified domain name.

  9. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

When the installation is complete, Jamf Pro allows you to enable the Healthcare Listener.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux

  1. Log in to Jamf Account and go to the following page:
    https://account.jamf.com/products/other/infrastructure-manager

  2. Download the Healthcare Listener Installer Bundle for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (jamf-im-HCL-version.rpm) to the computer on which you plan to install it.

    Note: In the installer filename, “version" is the version of the installer you are downloading. For example, "jamf-im-2.3.0_hcl-1.noarch.rpm”.

  3. Log in to the server as a user with superuser privileges.

  4. Initiate the installer by executing a command similar to the following:

    sudo rpm -i /path/to/jamf-im-2.3.0_hcl-1.noarch.rpm

  5. When prompted, execute the following command:

    sudo jamf-im enroll

  6. When prompted, enter the Jamf Pro URL. For example, “https://JAMF_PRO_URL.com:8443/”.

  7. When prompted, enter credentials for a Jamf Pro user account with the “Infrastructure Manager” privilege.

  8. When prompted, enter the Jamf Pro password.

  9. When prompted, enter the hostname of the computer on which the Infrastructure Manager is installed. For example, “computername.mycompany.com”.

    Note: The hostname must be entered as a fully qualified domain name.

  10. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

When the installation is complete, Jamf Pro allows you to enable the Healthcare Listener.

Windows

  1. Log in to Jamf Account and go to the following page:
    https://account.jamf.com/products/other/infrastructure-manager

  2. Download the Healthcare Listener Installer Bundle for Windows (Jamf-Infrastructure-Manager-healthcare-listener-version.msi) to the computer on which you plan to install it.

    Note: In the installer filename, “version" is the version of the installer you are downloading. For example, "Jamf-Infrastructure-Manager-healthcare-listener-2.3.0.msi".

  3. Run the installer.

    Note: The installer must be run as an administrator.

  4. When prompted, select setup type.

  5. When prompted, enter the Jamf Pro URL. For example, “https://JAMF_PRO_URL.com:8443/”.

  6. When prompted, enter credentials for a Jamf Pro user account with the “Infrastructure Manager” privilege.

  7. When prompted, enter the Jamf Pro password.

  8. When prompted, enter the hostname of the computer on which the Infrastructure Manager is installed. For example, “computername.mycompany.com”.

    Note: The hostname must be entered as a fully qualified domain name.

  9. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

When the installation is complete, Jamf Pro allows you to enable the Healthcare Listener.
