Jamf Protect Package Management

If you have a Jamf Protect subscription and registered your Jamf Protect tenant with Jamf Pro, you can manage Jamf Protect packages directly from Jamf Pro. You can do the following:

  • Download the Jamf Protect package

  • Upload the Jamf Protect package to Jamf Pro for deployment via policy

Downloading Jamf Protect from Jamf Pro

You can download the latest version of the Jamf Protect PKG from Jamf Pro.

Requirement

You must register your Jamf Protect tenant in Jamf Pro.
For more information, see the Jamf Protect Integration with Jamf Pro section of this guide.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Jamf Pro.

  2. In the top-right corner of the page, click Settings images/docs.jamf.com/10.26.0/jamf-pro/administrator-guide/images/download/thumbnails/81923229/Icon_Settings_Hover.png .

  3. Click Jamf Applications.

  4. Click Jamf Protect images/download/thumbnails/81934017/Screen_Shot_2021-01-27_at_3.15.29_PM.png .

  5. Click Download.

The latest version of the Jamf Protect PKG downloads to your computer and can be uploaded to Jamf Pro.

Uploading the Jamf Protect Package to Jamf Pro

You can upload the Jamf Protect package to Jamf Pro for deployment.

Requirement

To upload a package to Jamf Pro, your principal distribution point must be a cloud distribution point.

Procedure

  1. In Jamf Pro, click Settings images/docs.jamf.com/10.26.0/jamf-pro/administrator-guide/images/download/thumbnails/81550595/Icon_Settings_Hover.png .

  2. Click Computer Management.

  3. In the “Computer Management” section, click Packages images/docs.jamf.com/10.26.0/jamf-pro/administrator-guide/images/download/thumbnails/81550595/Packages.png .

  4. Click New images/docs.jamf.com/10.26.0/jamf-pro/administrator-guide/images/download/thumbnails/81550595/Icon_New_Button.png .

  5. Use the General pane to configure basic settings for the package, including the display name and category.

  6. Click Upload Package and upload the package.

  7. Click the Options tab and configure additional settings for the package, including the priority.

  8. Click Save.

The Jamf Protect package is now displayed as an uploaded package in Jamf Pro.
