You can create and manage mobile device and computer web clips using profiles Jamf School.
Creating and Managing Computer Web Clips
You cannot distribute web clips to computers using the Web Clips payload in a profile in Jamf School.
Creating a Web Clip Script
After the web clip script is created, you must package and distribute the script to computers. For more information, see Packages and In-House Content Distribution.
Configuring the Web Clip in the Dock
- In Jamf School, navigate to Profiles in the sidebar.
- Click + Create Profile.
- Select the operating system you want to make the profile for or select Upload Custom Profile.
- Select User Enrollment.
- Enter a name in the Profile name field and configure the additional settings as needed, including the removal policy and time filter.
- Click Finish.
- To configure the profile settings, click the profile you want to configure.
- Use the Scope payload to configure the scope of the profile by clicking the + icon and adding device groups to the profile scope.
- Use the Dock payload to configure basic settings for the web clip, including the following:
- Click Save.
Creating and Managing Mobile Device Web Clips
When managing web clips, keep the following in mind:

Users can always create web clips.

You can prevent users from removing web clips by disabling the Allow removing apps checkbox in restriction settings.
Note:When a layout is configured, users cannot remove web clips regardless of this restriction.

When safelisting or blocklisting apps, you can allow or restrict all web clips. For more information, see Configuring a Web Content Filter Profile for Mobile Devices.

Shared iPads with iOS 11.3 or later

Mobile devices with iOS 11.2 or earlier
Web clips configured on these devices cannot be saved to the Home screen.
