Viewing and Editing Device Information in Jamf School

Jamf School stores detailed inventory information for each mobile device and computer. Administrator accounts with the corresponding privilege sets can view and edit this information from Jamf School. For more information, see Setting Up Administrator Roles and Accounts in Jamf School.

The following table lists all possible information that you can view and edit for each device.

Cache Status

 

Displays the following values for the computer's content cache status:

  • Low Space

  • OK

Activated

 

Displays whether the computer's content cache was activated.

Active

 

Displays whether the computer's content cache is active.

Public Address

 

Displays the public IP address.

Port

 

Displays the IP port number the content cache listens to for requests from clients, peers, and children.

Server GUID

 

Displays the unique identifier of the content cache.

Actual Cache Used

 

Displays the amount of disk space used by the content cache in bytes.

Cache Free

 

Displays the amount of disk space available to the content cache in bytes.

Cache Limit

 

Displays the maximum amount of disk space available for the content cache in bytes.

Cache Used

 

Displays the amount of disk space the content cache uses in bytes.

Personal Cache Free

Displays the amount of disk space in bytes available to the personal content cache.

Personal Cache Limit

Total Bytes are Since

 

Displays the start date for data collection.

Total Bytes Returned to Clients

 

Displays the amount of data the content cache served to client computers and mobile devices since the date returned by the "Total Bytes Since".

Total Bytes Stored from Origin

 

Displays the amount of data the content cache saved to its cache from the internet since the date returned by the "Total Bytes Since".

Viewing Inventory Information

  1. In Jamf School, navigate to Devices in the sidebar.

  2. Click the device you want to view information for.

Editing Inventory Information

  1. In Jamf School, navigate to Devices in the sidebar.

  2. Click the device you want to edit information for.

  3. Click Edit Details.

  4. Make changes to the fields as needed.

  5. Click Save.
