Removing a Device from Jamf School

To completely remove a device from Jamf School, you must unenroll it first. After the device is unmanaged, you can remove it completely from Jamf School. No management tasks can be performed until the device is enrolled again.

Unenrolling the Device

Unenrolling a device removes the MDM profile and all installed profiles. Managed apps are also removed when “Remove this app when the management profile is removed” is enabled.

Unenrolling a Device Using Jamf School

  1. In Jamf School, navigate to Devices > Devices in the sidebar.

  2. Select the device you want to unenroll.

  3. Click Unenroll, and then click Unenroll Device.
The device will be marked as "Unmanaged" and the MDM profile will be deleted from the device automatically.

Unenrolling a Device On the Device

If the device is not online, you can manually remove the MDM profile on the device.

  1. On the device, navigate to Settings > General > Device Management.

  2. Select “Jamf School Management”, and then click Remove to delete the management profile and any managed configuration profiles installed via Jamf School.

Note: If your device was enrolled via Automated Device Enrollment (formerly DEP), you must either remove the profile tied to this device in Devices > Automated Device Enrollments or unassign the device from the Jamf School MDM in Apple School Manager.
