Removing Licenses from Devices

When you remove a calendar year, academic year, or full year license from a device, the license can be reassigned to a new device. Before you can remove the license, you must move the device to the Trash.

General Requirements

To remove licenses, you must have licenses assigned to devices. For more information about how to assign perpetual licenses to devices, see Assigning Perpetual Licenses to Devices.

Removing a License from a Single Device

  1. In Jamf School, navigate to Devices > Devices in the sidebar.

  2. Click the device you want to remove the license from.

  3. Select Move to trash from the Quick Actions menu in the sidebar.

  4. Click Yes when prompted to move the device to the Trash.
