Notification Settings

You can configure the Notifications settings to send notifications about the following:

  • Upcoming Apple Push Notifications (APNs) certificate or service token expirations

  • Changes in device management, such as the removal of device profiles or devices marked as inactive

  • New app requests

Depending on the notification type, notifications are displayed in the Jamf School notification center or sent to selected administrators via email.

Configuring Notification Settings

Requirements

To send email notifications to administrators, you must configure the "Notifications" access right for their role to receive notifications. For more information about configuring administrator roles, see Setting Up Administrator Roles and Accounts in Jamf School.

Procedure

  1. In Jamf School, navigate to Organization > Settings in the sidebar.

  2. Click Notifications.

  3. To receive notifications about expiring or revoked APNs certificates, click Select to select administrator accounts that should be notified of expiring and revoked certificates.

  4. To send notifications about expiring tokens, do the following:

    • Select the Send e-mails about expired server tokens checkbox.

    • Select the Send e-mails regarding ASM token(s) checkbox.

    • Select the Send e-mails about expired service tokens checkbox.

    Note: When selected, email notifications are sent 30 days and 15 days before expiration. If a token is set to expire in less than 15 days, email notifications are sent daily.

  5. To send notifications about device management changes, do the following:

    1. Select the Enable notifications regarding removed management profiles checkbox.

    2. Select the Enable notifications regarding devices that are marked as inactive checkbox.

  6. To send notifications about app requests, do the following:

    1. Select the Enable notifications regarding new app requests checkbox.

    2. Select the Send e-mails regarding new app requests checkbox, and then click Select to select administrator accounts that should be notified when an app request is submitted.

  7. Click Save.

Notifications will now display in Jamf School or be sent to the selected administrator accounts for the enabled settings.
