You can anonymize your data in Apple School Manager by enabling "Anonymize uploaded users" in your SFTP upload settings. When this is enabled, it will create users in Apple School Manager based on numbers instead of sending the names of your users. When you sync your data back, these numbers are linked to the users.
Your Shared iPads will still display the names and photos of your students because this information is stored in Jamf School.
The Jamf School to Apple School Manager sync data anonymization workflow involves the following steps:
In Jamf School, add the users that you want to upload to Apple School Manager. For more information, see Adding Users.
Do an SFTP upload with the Anonymize uploaded users option selected. After the upload is finished, your data will be anonymous in Apple School Manager.
Important: Schoolworks pulls data directly from Apple School Manager so if you use this feature to anonymize your data in Apple School Manager, the users will be displayed as numbers.
Sync your data back to Jamf School with a dashboard sync.
The data in Apple School Manager will be anonymized, but the data in Jamf School will stay the same.
