Custom classes are ad-hoc classes created by the teacher from the Jamf School Teacher app. Students in close proximity to the teacher are invited to join the classroom or can join manually in Jamf School Student by entering a code. Teachers can create classes by tapping or clicking Classes > New Class and adding a class name, description, and students. Student devices will then receive a prompt to join the class.

Note: Teachers must accept prompts to allow Jamf School Teacher to access iBeacons and Locations to add student devices to the class.

Lessons allow teachers to configure which apps, websites, and built-in apps students can use during lessons such as Math or English, ensuring students only access apps and websites that are related to the subject they are currently learning. Teachers can create lessons by tapping or clicking Lessons on the Jamf School Teacher dashboard. Once teachers create a lesson, they can start a lesson by tapping or clicking a class and Start Lesson.

Messages allows teachers to send and receive messages from students, groups, and classes. Teachers can view and send messages in Jamf School Teacher by tapping or clicking Messages on their dashboard.

Teachers can tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner to view and perform available operating system updates for their device, refresh their device, clear the passcode, clear activation lock, or wipe the device.
