Clearing Activation Lock Using Jamf School

Activation Lock is designed to keep your device and information safe in case your devices get lost or stolen.

The requirements for Activation Lock Bypass include the following:

  • iOS 7.1 or greater must be installed.

  • The device must be supervised, using Apple Configurator or Apple's DEP.

  • The device must have a managed Apple ID configured.

  • The device must have Find my iPad or Find my iPhone enabled.

If you erase your device without signing out of iCloud or Managed Apple ID first, it might stay protected by Activation Lock. Whether you or someone else erased the device, you can turn off Activation Lock by entering the Apple ID and password associated with the device.
