Clearing Activation Lock

Activation Lock is a feature that protects devices by linking a user's Managed Apple ID to a device. If a device is wiped or restored, the user's Managed Apple ID and password are required to unlock the device. When a school deploys supervised devices with Jamf School and an employee or student leaves without removing their Managed Apple ID, Jamf School can provide an Activation Lock bypass code to unlock the device. This allows the school to set up the device for a new user.

For more information about Activation Lock, see the following article from Apple's support website: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13695
