Licensing Jamf Connect

You must deploy a Jamf Connect license with the Jamf Connect packages and configuration profiles. The license key is provided by your Jamf Customer Success Manager, and the same license key may be used for all Jamf Connect components (login window and menu bar app) used in your environment.

If you do not deploy a license file, Jamf Connect will run in trial mode, which expires 30 days after the version release date.

If using Jamf Pro, complete the following steps to upload and deploy the license file:

  1. Obtain a Jamf Connect license file from your Jamf Custom Success Manager.
  2. In Jamf Pro, click Computers at the top of the sidebar.
  3. Click Configuration Profiles in the sidebar.
  4. Click Upload .
  5. Upload the license file to Jamf Pro.
  6. Name your license file.

Including the year and date in the name is recommended.

  7. Click the Scope tab and configure the scope of the profile.

The scope should include all computers that are using Jamf Connect in your organization.

  8. Click Save .

The license is distributed to computers in the scope the next time they contact Jamf Pro.

To renew the license, remove the old license from the scope, and then repeat the steps above to upload and deploy the new license.
