Unmigrating a Local Account

Local accounts that are mistakenly connected to a network account can be unmigrated by removing the local account's network user attributes and alias.

  1. Execute the following dscl command, where <localusername> is the local account, in Terminal to obtain the local account alias:
    sudo dscl . read /Users/<localusername> RecordName
    The following displays, where <alias> is the user's local account alias:
    RecordName: <localusername> <alias>
  2. Execute the following dscl commands where <localusername> is the local account that you want to unmigrate:
    dscl . delete /Users/<localusername> RecordName <alias>
dscl . delete /Users/<localusername> dsAttrTypeStandard:NetworkUser
dscl . delete /Users/<localusername> dsAttrTypeStandard:OIDCProvider
dscl . delete /Users/<localusername> dsAttrTypeStandard:OktaUser
dscl . delete /Users/<localusername> dsAttrTypeStandard:AzureUser

The local account no longer has any network user attributes or an alias used by Jamf Connect.
