Password Changes
This section describes the typical user experience for changing a local password with the Jamf Connect menu bar app.
Password Changes via a Cloud Identity Provider
The following workflow is used when users must change or reset a network password:
The user clicks the Jamf Connect menu bar icon

The user clicks Change password.
A web view with your IdP's change password screen displays to users.
The user follows the on-screen instructions to change their password in the IdP.
Jamf Connect prompts the user to sync their local password with the new network password.
Password Changes via Kerberos
If Kerberos is enabled with Jamf Connect, password changes are completed through Active Directory first and then synced between Active Directory and the cloud identity provider (IdP):
The user clicks the Jamf Connect menu bar icon

The user clicks Change Password.
- The user enters their current password, a new password, and confirms the new password.
The Change Password window.
The user clicks Change Password. The local password and network password via Active Directory are updated.
