Uninstalling Using the Jamf Connect Uninstaller Package

The Jamf Connect Uninstaller package fully removes Jamf Connect from any device you run the package on.

  1. Locate the Jamf Connect Uninstaller package in the Jamf Connect DMG file.
  2. Run the Jamf Connect Uninstaller package on the device you intended to remove Jamf Connect from.

The Jamf Connect Uninstaller package uninstalls the menu bar app, removes the pairing between the Mac and any devices paired with the Unlock app, and deletes the configuration profile, defaults, library, and details in the Launch Agent.

Note:

If the Jamf Connect app is running when you run the Jamf Connect Uninstaller package, the app will close.

Uninstalling the Login Window

  1. Reset the authentication database by executing the following command with the authchanger: sudo /usr/local/bin/authchanger -reset
    Important: If you do not reset the authentication database before deleting Jamf Connect login window files, users will be unable to log in.
  2. Remove the following files installed with Jamf Connect by executing the following commands:
    sudo rm /usr/local/bin/authchanger
sudo rm /usr/local/lib/pam/pam_saml.so.2
sudo rm -r /Library/Security/SecurityAgentPlugins/JamfConnectLogin.bundle
  3. Do one of the following to remove the com.jamf.connect.login.plist file from computers:

    • Remove computers from the Jamf Connect login window configuration profile scope in your MDM solution.

    • Manually delete the preference file on computers.

Uninstalling the Menu Bar App

  1. Do one of the following to delete the Jamf Connect menu bar app:

    • Remove computers from the scope of the policy that installs Jamf Connect.

    • Manually move Jamf Connect from /Applications to the Trash.

  2. Do one of the following to remove the com.jamf.connect.plist file from computers:

    • Remove computers from the configuration profile scope in your MDM solution.

    • Manually delete the preference file on computers.

  3. Remove the Jamf Connect launch agent from /Library/LaunchAgents.
    Note:

    When you install Jamf Connect 2.0.0 or later on computers, the installer package will automatically remove any previously installed versions of Jamf Connect Sync or Jamf Connect Verify from computers.
