Applications

Jamf Connect is a family of applications allowing for simple provisioning of local user accounts and password synchronization with a cloud identity provider (IdP) during an Apple provisioning workflow. This includes multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Note: The Jamf Connect family and each app have a unique version number. For a complete history of Jamf Connect app versioning, see the Release History section of this guide.

Jamf Connect Configuration

Jamf Connect Configuration is an app that allows administrators to automatically configure and create computer configuration profiles for Jamf Connect apps. You can use Jamf Connect Configuration to do the following:

  • Select and specify Jamf Connect preferences.

  • Test configurations.

  • Save configuration profiles, which you can install locally or upload for deployment with an MDM solution. Configuration profiles can be saved in .mobileconfig or .plist format.

  • Open an existing Jamf Connect configuration profile.

Jamf Connect Login

Jamf Connect Login (formerly NoMAD Login+) is an application that allows you to manage authentication with the macOS loginwindow process. In addition, Jamf Connect Login can be used for the following:

  • Enabling authentication with identity provider (IdPs) credentials

  • Allowing just-in-time user creation

  • Enabling FileVault

  • Customizing the log in experience

Jamf Connect Sync

Jamf Connect Sync (formerly NoMAD Pro) is a menu bar application that helps manage your Okta password. With Jamf Connect Sync, you can sign in to your Okta account and synchronize your Okta password with your local account. Jamf Connect can also do the following:

  • Retrieve Kerberos tickets, if a Kerberos realm is specified

    Note: Computers must be connected to an on-premise Active Directory domain controller during Kerberos authentication.

  • Synchronize keychain items with Okta

  • Run scripts automatically or on a specified schedule

  • Add a file share menu

Jamf Connect Verify

Jamf Connect Verify is a menu bar application that allows for continuous password validation between network and local accounts. Validation can occur in the background, avoiding user engagement, or with user interaction.

You can also do the following with Jamf Connect Verify:

  • Retrieve Kerberos tickets, if a Kerberos realm is specified

    Note: Computers must be connected to an on-premise Active Directory domain controller during Kerberos authentication.

  • Add custom action menu items

  • Add a file share menu

  • Configure Silent Operation
