Video

Key Points

  • My Classes shows classes you made manually.

  • Managed Classes shows classes that have been made by your school.

  • When working with students:

    • Red and green signify if the student's device is connected.

    • Individual actions can be made by tapping a student's name.

  • For groups:

    • The actions you select will be sent to whichever group is selected.

  • Actions have several uses:

    • Remote class will start your video conferencing app for you and your students.

    • Start Lesson will allow you to push out the restrictions in a lesson you've created.

    • Restrictions, Applock, and Weblock allow you to set restrictions on the fly without a lesson.

    • Attention can lock your students' iPads to draw focus to you.

    • Install Apps will allow you to push out apps to your students' devices.

    • The Messages action allows you to message your students.

    • Shared iPads can be added to the class with the Shared iPad action.

  • To create a class manually:

    • Tap New Class.

    • Give it a name, description, and choose a color.

    • Add students to the class.

Review

  1. True or False: Lessons are deployed with a time limit, after which the restrictions in the lesson are removed from student devices.

  2. Which category of classes are created by your school for you?

  3. What action can you use to clear the effects of a previous action before its time limit?
