Configuring Wi-Fi for macOS Computers

This workflow details the best practices for deploying Wi-Fi configurations for macOS using a computer configuration profile. Configuration profiles are XML files (.mobileconfig) that provide an easy way to define settings and restrictions for macOS computers and users. It is recommended that you create a configuration profile that allows computers to automatically join the wireless network. If you are using a certificate to authenticate to the network, the respective Certificate, SCEP (Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol), or AD Certificate (Active Directory certificate) payloads must be configured in the same profile before configuring the Network payload. You can then specify the computers and users to which the profile should be applied (called "scope").

Requirements

To configure Wi-Fi for macOS computers by using the instructions in this guide, you need a valid push certificate uploaded to Jamf Pro.
