Create a Licensed Software Record

Licensed software allows you to track licenses for the software in your environment. For each software product that you want to track licenses for, you must create a licensed software record in the JAMF Software Server (JSS). These records allow you to store the licenses owned and the software titles that count toward each license (called “software definitions”).

Each time a computer submits inventory to the JSS, the software titles on the computer are compared to the software definitions in licensed software records. If they match, the computer counts toward the number of licenses in use.

  2. Click Computers at the top of the page.
