User Deferrals for macOS Software Updates

When updating macOS using a mass action, you can now configure the number of times a user can defer a macOS software updates on computers with macOS 12 or later when selecting the Download and allow macOS to install later install action. The default deferral is 7 times but can be changed to any integer between 0-99.

Cloud Identity Providers Enhancements

The Cloud Identity Providers page has been redesigned with new icons, buttons, and table elements that allow you to more easily view, arrange, and export items in the list.

To access this feature, navigate to Settings > System Settings > Cloud Identity Providers.

Other Changes and Improvements

  • You can now filter and order computer scripts by Priority. To access this feature, navigate to Settings > Computer Management > Scripts.

  • Improved validation of remote commands and fixed the Previous button functionality in mass actions for mobile devices.

  • An Allow Jamf Parent to Clear Student Device Passcode setting has been added to Settings > Jamf Applications > Jamf Parent. When set to Yes, devices with the Jamf Parent app can clear the passcode on paired student devices.

  • Jamf Pro now reports on whether automatic Jamf Connect deployments and updates have installed on target computers (previously Jamf Pro only reported on whether an install command was acknowledged).

Jamf Pro API Changes and Enhancements

The Jamf Pro API is open for user testing. The base URL for the Jamf Pro API is /api. You can access documentation for both the Jamf Pro API and the Classic API from the new API landing page. To access the landing page, append "/api" to your Jamf Pro URL. For example:


In future releases, Jamf Pro API endpoints that have been deprecated for over a year will be removed. It is recommended that you update your applications to use the latest versions of these endpoints. See the API documentation for a complete list of endpoints.

Further Considerations

  • Privileges associated with new features in Jamf Pro are disabled by default.

  • It is recommended that you clear your browser's cache after upgrading Jamf Pro to ensure that the Jamf Pro interface displays correctly.
