Bug Fixes and Enhancements

Updated 19 March 2020

The following bug fix in Jamf Pro 10.20.0 was inadvertently not included in the original publishing of these release notes:

[PI-007857] Fixed an issue that caused Jamf Pro to populate extension attribute values for all newly enrolled computers with the same values used for currently enrolled computers.

Jamf Pro Server

  • [PI-003007] Fixed an issue that allowed Jamf Pro to continue importing user information from Apple School Manager based on previous sync information after disabling Apple School Manager integration.

  • [PI-003658] Fixed an issue that caused Jamf Pro to incorrectly display the same course twice in the list of courses when importing classes from Apple School Manager.

  • [PI-004127] Fixed an issue that prevented imported users and classes from being assigned to a selected site when importing from within the Full Jamf Pro view with sites enabled.

  • [PI-004958] Fixed an issue that prevented Jamf Pro from importing classes from Apple School Manager if the class does not have a value for "Course Name" or "Course ID".

  • [PI-006754] Fixed an issue that caused Jamf Pro to intermittently fail to deploy packages during enrollment to computers with macOS 10.13 or earlier when the package was deployed using a PreStage enrollment.

  • [PI-007066] Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented newly purchased devices added to the MDM server in Apple School Manager from assigning to a PreStage enrollment if the PreStage was configured to automatically assign new devices.

  • [PI-007415] The Wallpaper now updates on the Home screen and Lock screen of a device when using the Set Wallpaper remote command.

  • [PI-007508] Fixed an issue that caused Jamf Pro to intermittently fail to sync with Automated Device Enrollment (on-premise environments only).

  • [PI-007533] Fixed an issue that could disclose the version of Apache Tomcat in default error pages. Previous releases of Jamf Pro may require a workaround to prevent the Tomcat version from being disclosed. For more information, see the “Apache Tomcat” section of the Jamf Pro Security Recommendations Knowledge Base article.

  • [PI-007715] Fixed an issue that could cause the patch management features to sometimes stop functioning if there were several thousand duplicate actions queued.

  • [PI-007718] Fixed an issue that caused Jamf Pro to incorrectly send an unnecessary OSUpdateStatus MDM command when the "Download the update for users to install" remote command is sent to devices.

  • [PI-007730] Fixed an issue that caused Jamf Pro to drop and recreate the indexes of eight MySQL database tables each time Tomcat restarted, which increased startup time for some environments.

  • [PI-007822] When viewing an LDAP Authentication PreStage Pane in the Branding & Preview tab in an Enrollment Customization configuration, the text for the credential fields is now displayed correctly.

  • [PI-007843] Fixed an issue that prevented user-level configuration profiles from distributing a new DigiCert certificate to a managed computer or mobile device when the device temporarily fell out of scope.

  • [PI-007850] Fixed an issue that caused the process for correctly distributing an EDU Profile to fail if multiple errors occurred when recalculating the profile.

  • [PI-007911] Fixed an issue that caused Jamf Pro to briefly unscope configuration profiles scoped to all users upon adding or removing associated computers from unrelated static computer groups.

  • [PI-007980] Fixed an issue that could expose the default AJP port (8009) to untrusted networks due to a Tomcat vulnerability (CVE-2020-1938).

Jamf Self Service for macOS

  • [PI-006543] Fixed an issue that occasionally prevented the User Interaction message from displaying the policy icon when running a policy in Jamf Self Service for macOS.

  • [PI-007184] Descriptions for apps made available in Self Service for macOS incorrectly display as null if the Schedule Jamf Pro to automatically check iTunes for app updates and the Assign VPP Content settings are enabled in Jamf Pro.
