Installing Self Service on Mobile Devices

You can install Self Service Mobile for iOS or the Self Service web clip automatically on all managed mobile devices using the Self Service settings in the Jamf Software Server (JSS).

By default, Self Service Mobile is installed on all managed mobile devices with iOS 7 or later except Apple TV devices and personally owned devices.

Note: If you have upgraded from the Casper Suite v9.3x or earlier, the Self Service web clip remains installed on all managed mobile devices.

Installing Self Service

  1. Log in to the JSS with a web browser.

  2. In the top-right corner of the page, click Settings images/download/thumbnails/14455174/Settings_icon.png .

  3. Click Mobile Device Management.

  4. Click Self Service images/download/thumbnails/14455174/Self_Service_MD.png .

  5. Click Edit.

  6. Choose an option from the Install Automatically pop-up menu:

    • To install the app, choose “Self Service Mobile app”.
      Note: Self Service Mobile requires mobile devices with iOS 7 or later. For earlier iOS versions, the web clip is installed by default.

    • To install the web clip, choose “Self Service web clip”.

    • If you do not want to automatically install Self Service on all managed mobile devices, choose “Neither (manual installation)”.

  7. Configure the settings on the pane.

  8. Click Save.

Self Service is installed on mobile devices the next time they check in with the JSS.

If you choose to install Self Service Mobile, users are prompted to install the app from the App Store. Users are also prompted to install the app from the App Store on mobile devices as they are newly enrolled.
