Mac App Store App Update Settings

The Jamf Software Server (JSS) allows you to configure settings to update all Mac App Store apps in the JSS and on computers that were distributed using VPP-managed distribution. You can use the App Updates settings in the JSS to do the following:

  • Enable automatic app updates–You can enable automatic app updates for all Mac App Store apps. This automatically updates app descriptions, icons, and versions in the JSS and on computers. This update happens once a day depending on the time of day you specify.

  • Force apps to update–You can force all Mac App Store apps to update immediately on computers if there are updates available in the JSS.

Note: The JSS also allows you to enable an automatic app update and force an update for an individual Mac App Store app. For more information, see Mac App Store Apps.
